ABOUT
WILLIAM NORRIS III

BACKGROUND & MOTIVATION
I’ve been a proud Wichita County resident since 1995, committed to serving our community through both fire service and law enforcement.
My journey began as a Burkburnett Fire Department Explorer and Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadet, where I learned the value of leadership and service. After earning my EMT certification, I volunteered with Friberg-Cooper VFD and later started my law enforcement career in 2011 with the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office.
Over the years, I’ve served in multiple agencies, advancing to my current role as Lieutenant at Clay County Sheriff’s Office, where I oversee budgeting, grants, personnel, and operations. I hold advanced certifications in law enforcement and fire service, including Crisis Negotiator, Court Security, Instructor Credentials, and Master Peace Officer License.
My experience spans over 3,500 hours of law enforcement training and 800 hours of fire training, including deployment to the historic Smokehouse Creek Fire in 2024. I’m deeply committed to innovation, efficiency, and safety for Wichita County.
As a father of two, my greatest motivation is building a secure future for our families. My decision to run for Wichita County Sheriff reflects my lifelong dedication to community service and leadership.
